Mess the Hair from the Upper Body Series

This is a fun "level 2" exercise. Level 2 workouts aren't only about more difficult exercises but also how you put them together into long sequences and really uniting the timing and the breathing. I'm not even sure if "mess the hair" is what it's called. But that's one of the cues for the movement, "mess the hair/fix the hair".


Obviously lunges are used in many different exercise systems, but to pivot in and out of a lunge is definitely a distinctly GYROTONIC® thing to do. The coordination of the breathing, the tempo and the compound/complex movement is really fun to me an can almost get hypnotic. There's not alot of space to think of other things with so much going on, your entire organism is moving and flowing as one. There is alot of that "whole organism" unification in Level 2 workouts, which is no doubt largely the point, to reach an altered state, like a whirling dervish.

As I'm writing this I'm wondering what it would feel like to do this exercise for 5 or 10 straight minutes, never losing the connectivity. I must find out tomorrow.
