Squat Backstroke with the Wingmaster in Setting 3
I've made it a part of the way I train clients that they get on their feet for at least one exercise in every workout. The benefits of a complex exercise that includes squats, like this one, go beyond leg strength and even include benefits for your brain.
To quote this article, leg exercise is critical to brain and nervous system health. They help keep your brain working correctly in a physical way.
And while squats by themselves are great, adding complexity to them adds "newness" to your movement. "Newness" or novelty, promotes neuroplasticity, the ability of your brain to continue to grow and develop by creating new neurons and new networks. Movements like this are exercise for your brain, helping offset age related cognitive decline.
And squats are one of the seven primal movements. They're at the roots of movement. So get up, get down and do some squats.
