Some families of exercises and then some exercises within those families, are what I consider "bread & butter" exercises. Simple Twist & Pull is one of my bread & butter exercises.  It's one of my overall favorites.

I do this exercise without fail at least once a week. Inhaling and exhaling. Hinging and reaching. Rocking and spiraling. You get a yawn, core strengthening, opening across the shoulders and chest, opening across the back.  And, as I usually say, it feels great.

This exercise didn't exist when I began doing GYROTONIC® training. I remember when Juliu first showed us this exercise when he came to San Francisco in 2001. That was a fun weekend.
