Snake, an old exercise on the Ladder
I recently recorded several exercises in the Levitation series and as I was selecting which exercises to use, I looked back at old syllabi to see if I was forgetting any really cool ones. I was. I haven't done Snake in years and I remembered how much I've always liked this.
While it looks kind of intense, using the arms like this actually allow me to increase my back bend. I can get higher than with my arms on the sides of the Ladder or hands clasped behind my head. I suppose its the physics of changing the lever length. It's also a great exercise for opening your chest and the front of the shoulders.
I have been a client of Mike's for 18 months and counting. Mike is an excellent communicator and trainer. While the gyro workout is physical, I find it is more mental. I am challenged in ways I am not in other "traditional" workouts. Mike is a Rotarian with my husband in the Upcountry Maui Rotary Club, and a contributor to the community. I am very pleased as Mike's client and fellow upcountry resident. I have (and will continue) to refer any and all to Mike's training!

Everything I thought I knew was... Not exactly correct. It took time & hands on training & so many little & not so little details adjusting my positions & postures & motions & I really felt like I re-learned the usual exercises with a higher degree of focus & execution & learned a new world of gyrotonic exercises. As a personal investment it was worth it even though it took months before I felt that. You'll never know until you try it!

Mike is an experienced and knowledgeable trainer. He has such great eyes to caught my movement patterns and gave me corrections. He was able to focus on what my body actually needs as a professional dancer. My lower back opens up right away after the first session. He cares about the details, the breath, and the specific muscles I need to engage. I am very happy to have Mike as my first Gyrotonic instructor.

I have paddled outrigger canoes for years and years and started going to Mike for deep muscle/tissue massages about 9 years ago. Geez! There is no one that matches his level of expertise and professionalism. In addition, I had a neck whiplash injury 8 years ago and he worked with me for 1 year. His orthopedic knowledge healed me completely.
I have not found anyone else close to his style of Deep Tissue Massage. E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T!
Highly recommend him for Gyrontonics and Massage...he is at Aim Fitness now on Fremont in SF.
He rocks!!!

Excellent.
His eye for precision is outstanding. In just an 1 hr zoom private, he identified details in my alignment that helped me in getting ready for my final and improvements using my older model Gyrotonic equipment.
Thanks Mike
